"Momentum" Original Painting (48" x 48")

48 x 48 in | Acrylic on Canvas | Signed | One of a Kind

In Momentum, the figures are both motion and memory... an unfolding of energy, emotion, and expressive color. JD Shultz weaves movement into every layered stroke, capturing the pulse of a moment that refuses to be still.

From the intersecting shapes to the bold yet softened forms, this piece invites reflection… and ignites momentum within the room it inhabits.

The Process Behind the Work

Each artwork begins as an original painting by JD Shultz, created on canvas or plexiglass using layered acrylic techniques.

Plexiglass pieces are painted on the reverse side, building the image back-to-front to create depth, clarity, and a luminous finish.

Mixed media works are developed from the original painting and enhanced through layered materials and finishes — preserving the integrity of the original while adding dimension and presence.
