"Sound Waves" was born from a moment of full-body rhythm… when the music hits you so deep, it moves through your entire being. I wanted to capture that invisible force...the pulse of sound as it becomes emotion, vibration, and color all at once.
 
This piece is alive with motion...each brushstroke a frequency, each color a beat. There’s a sense of movement and energy, like you’re standing in front of a speaker, heart syncing with every note. I layered electric hues with precision and spontaneity, letting the flow guide me like a melody.
 
Created with acrylic on canvas and measuring 48" x 60", Sound Waves is for those who feel music as a language... and want their space to echo that energy.

The Process Behind the Work

Each artwork begins as an original painting by JD Shultz, created on canvas or plexiglass using layered acrylic techniques.

Plexiglass pieces are painted on the reverse side, building the image back-to-front to create depth, clarity, and a luminous finish.

​

Mixed media works are developed from the original painting and enhanced through layered materials and finishes — preserving the integrity of the original while adding dimension and presence.
